Studying American literature offers students a window into the history and cultures which have shaped the United States over the last three centuries. Through this course, students will gain an overview of key American texts and how they interact with important moments of American history, as well as a thorough understanding of literary analysis and criticism.
This course is offered on a 3-year rotation, alternating between British Literature, American Literature, and World Literature. Students do not need to take these courses in a specific order. This setup simply allows us to offer all three courses to students each year while still maintaining a decent class size so that our conversations can be even richer!
